Hey All,

As a Marine that's been swinging with the wing for the last 14 years, anybody have the perspective of doing this switch to Navy officer while active duty? I've got a good guy in the recruiter's office helping me out. I just took the OAR today and hit the window I was shooting for with a 55. I'll humbly take any advice as the only thing I can compare this to is my recruit training in 2002.

You just answered your own question.

My drill instructors had a very "hands on" approach. I doubt anybody will be stuffing people into the gear locker in RI. It's going to be interesting comparing the 2 experiences.

That is sound advice. While I take pride in what I've been a part of at this point in my career, I look forward to experiencing a new realm of service. Up to this point, I've always been a team player and have taken many sacrifices for the good of the unit and my Marines. I wonder how the change will affect me but I am open to it. The article explains a dilemma that priors must face in letting go of the past. I can imagine how annoying it must be to hear, "when I was the LPO...."

Great post!
