Is the pool on base open for swimming at any time? I was swimming before I got to P'cola, but haven't been near a pool, save for my swim screen, since. I miss swimming as a workout.

Yeah the pool they use for API has free swim hours. I'm not sure what they are (sometime in the afternoon/evening), just go there and look for a sign or ask one of the instructors. I just finished the swim stuff right before Thanksgiving and I remember seeing signs about free swim.

I'm pretty sure it's 5-9PM on every weekday but friday? Call MWR, they run the deal. Oh, it also costs a buck or two.

It's open M, T, Th, F 1630-1800 for lap swim 1800-1900 for rec swim and 1900-2100 for lap swim. It's free for active duty, just bring your ID. It does get crowded since there are only 6 lanes.
