What a douche bag. He "fears for his family's safety?" Give me a break - what kind of danger(grave danger? Is there any other kind?) could they possibly be in? Like the Army has goon squads that go around roughing up dependants. I also enjoyed the part about how this is all a big conspiracy to prevent him from running against Sen Kyl, as though some snot nosed PFC with an Art. 15 or two under his belt presents some kind of threat to Kyl's reelection. Delusions of grandeur. I never understand why people like this join the military.

I go on a few car sites and there have been a couple of military types that have spewed anti-war and anti-Bush rehtoric on the political forums. Completely unsat in my opinion. I don't put up with it and I'm not alone. One particular individual was banned and found out by a fellow member. He was posting like this guy was in the article from some Army base. Still waiting to hear what happened to him.

Ya know, we love to wonder what our Founding Fathers would do in most situations these days. IMO they'd hang guys like this for treason...well, tar and feather at the least.

Shouldnt alot of these negative "milbloggers" get prosecuted under the "Contempt towards Officials"? Does this particular crime actually prosecuted often?

888. ART. 88. CONTEMPT TOWARD OFFICIALS

I hope that it goes without saying that military members can not spout off about political matters. Whether they do so in uniform or not, their status is eventually going to become known and exploited either by the media, or a foreign adversary. The DOD needs to have a zero tollerance policy for stuff like this. I mean, come on - all volunteer force, right? How about pulling together for the team now? I had a super smart CO that briefed all his JOs on the dos and don'ts of media relations because it happens more often than you think. You can shift just about any media question into an answer about how awesome the troopers are and how proud you are to be serving with them - doing your duty for God and country. I've done several radio and TV interviews where that advice has served me, and our country well.

Having specific views on the war and the President is one thing but voicing that publicly is another. The military is not a democracy.
