Package submitted today... few questions for you experts.

what percent of RL officers get jets?
Hows it goin fellas/ ladies, I've been browsing this site for awhile now (few months) and posting for the first time after religiously making use of that search function you all mention every other second. :icon_mi_1

I just completed my package for Navy Pilot and NFO and hopefully my recruiter submitted today. I am a UC Berkeley graduate with 3.2 GPA, B.A. in Economics and got 8/7/8 67 on the ASTB. I played competitive basketball all my life and currently a Business Valuations Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers (Big 4 accounting/finance firm). My recruiter said that he doesn't see why they wouldn't accept me and that if I don't get accepted it's BS and he's going to quit his job (of course he was kidding).

I have few questions regarding the apps and medical exams and such. For the EPSQ SF-86 form, on the "places where you lived" section, I put down an address to the apartment I used to live at while in college but I wasn't officially on the lease, so when the investigators (if they do investigate) go to confirm, there will be no record of me living there unless they contact my ex roommate. How crazy (thorough) are they with the background checks and investigations?

Second question, I have a missing tooth (one of my mowlers) and as of now theres nothing I can do about it for several reasons that my dentist mentioned. Is that going to be a problem if i get pro rec for SNA and have to go through the medical exam? I havent had this tooth five years now and it doesn't affect me AT ALL, no pain either. Also, my wisdom teeth haven't grown out yet and doctor says I dont need to mess wit it, or it wouldn't be smart to get them pulled right now because it might never grow out and may never give me any problems. I read through search functions that you should get your wisdom teeth pulled before going to OCS, is that the case if its not bothering me at all and its probably not going to bother me at all in the future?

Third question, has the July board met yet? if not, any news when they'll be meeting?

Thanks for all your replies in advance... reading posts on here about everything and anything that has to do with officer commissioning got me a bit paranoid about things since it seems like there's a WHOLE LOT of issues that come up that I never even thought about. Thanks again.

1st question - just be as honest as you can and provide as much information about your roommates and the nature of the lease as possible. In the big scheme of your first security clearance, this probably won't be an issue. However, you being a UC Berkley Alum (my fathers btw), could mark you as a liberal, tree-hugging do-gooder that should not be even thinking about service in the military.
2nd question - the missing tooth (IMO) will have serious implications on your ability to cruise chicks in overseas ports.
3rd question - no clue.

Wow, your stats are almost identical to mine. I had a 3.2 GPA at Furman University, 8/7/8 68 ASTB score, and I played varsity basketball in high school (just intramurals in college). I got picked up for Intel last month, and I think the biggest factor working in my favor was my ASTB score, which you obviously have working for you as well. My recruiter told me that a 3.5 GPA or above was the most desirable for the more competitive fields like SNA or Intel, but my school's academic reputation probably helped out a lot with that, and it definitely should with you as well. I'm surprised that your recruiter said that to you (even jokingly), but I would tend to agree with him. Your stats look good.

As long as you're telling the truth about where you lived, I don't think you'll have any problems. You may want to include your ex-roommate on the list of people who know you.

No idea about any of this, but the grammar nazi in me has to point out that it's spelled "molar."

Third question, has the July board met yet? if not, any news when they'll be meeting?
The board usually meets sometime in the middle of the month (probably next week), but don't expect to hear anything until almost the end of the month.

I knew i was gonna get crap for spelling that wrong, haha.

"2nd question - the missing tooth (IMO) will have serious implications on your ability to cruise chicks in overseas ports."

I have no problem getting chicks. the missing tooth is a MOLAR (thanks for the spelling correction FUPaladin) so it's not visible. Good try though =)

So the July board hasn't met yet huh? Hmm, I wonder if my package will get to them on time... maybe I should contact my recruiter and tell him to hurry =) because I want to get out of this corporate BS RIGHT NOW. atleast I get to browse airwarriors instead of conducting discounted cash flow analysis for Sony. =)

Even if he sent it out today, it still gets sent to a processor who looks it over, so I think making the July boards might not be happening.

From what I've heard, you need to have it in by the first of the month for it to be considered by that month's board. That could be total crap, but it makes sense, and again, it's what I've heard around here before.

Yea I just spoke with my recruiter and he said it more than likely not going to make the July board because it has to go through a processor and get tattoo waiver and such... oh well. more wait = more time to hook up with SoCal ladies before potentially selling my life (gladly) to the Navy. =)

Hey man...just want to say good luck to you. I think we will be submitting to the same board. My package is currently being combed by the processor. I was told that there is still a chance mine could make the July board, but it depends on a few factors (number of applicants, if the processor finds anything wrong, etc.).

BTW, your scores kill mine...

Hmm... after reading so many sarcastic posts, I'm not sure weather this is one of those or not. Well, regardless, it's out of my control now so I guess I can just keep my fingers crossed and maybe think of plan B if A doesn't go through. I'm going through an LA recruiter. Does it matter which location you go through?

Rule of thumb for your recruiting choices are .......Use the one responsible for your school or use the one responsible for your home of record address. In your case you have graduated and moved down south. so you use the one based off your current address.

Avalon: I do not have dates on INTEL board but it should be soon as well
