Pappy's Black Sheep

If you've noticed the header graphic lately, it includes the patch of the VMF-214 Black Sheep Squadron.

Pappy Boyington was the leader of the VMF-214 Black Sheep in the Pacific during WWII, an Ace Fighter Pilot, POW, and recipient of the Medal of Honor.

The film has been shown at aviation events, film festivals, and on military bases around the country. It has also been review by the Marine Corps, and you can read about it here: MOVIE REVIEW

I produced the documentary film "Pappy Boyington Field" and I'm also a former enlisted Marine. The film tells the story of the grass-roots effort to honor this WWII Hero in the town of his birth, with a commemorative airfield naming...and the campaign was not without controversy.

If you're interested in a DVD for yourself or as a gift, I'm providing a discount code here. In honor of the VMF-214, you can get a $2.14 discount on the DVD when you enter the Promo Code: 214

With Veterans Day coming up, the DVD makes an ideal gift .

Baseball Fans,

The Black Sheep Squadron was selected to do the Fly-over for Game 2 of the World Series in San Francisco.

The Pilots from VMA-214 will also be flying through the Northwest, and will be landing at 'Pappy Boyington Field' on Friday the 29th. The members of the Marine Corps League Pappy Boyington Detachment in Coeur d'Alene will be greeting them at the airfield.

Semper Fi,
Kevin
