Passing Score

Hey everybody,
Before I ask my questions, I did look everywhere in this forum, and the study guides and any packets you can get off the internet, but I still didn't find my answers. My first question is..what is a passing score on the ASTB? I am taking my test on Feb 12th, and everyone talks about the score, but for peace of mind, I need to know what a passing score is. My second question is, I am applying for the Supply Corp, and what would be a competitive score, like a range maybe? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks.

Angelo

When I took it last year, the competitive scores started at 50 and above on the OAR. I can't remember the competitive score for the aviation portions. Someone should be able to chime in on that. In the meantime, try using the topic search.

I think that site is bum gouge as far as ASTB scores are concerned. Your OSO should have access to the current "competitive" scores for each position, so just ask when you go in to talk to him/her.

Not quite bum, but unrealistic gouge. At best, that site shows an applicant what they should be doing if they haven't (academic expectations and such) so the review board doesn't circular file your application at first glance, but as far as competitive scores and stats, I agree.

From the top:

The minimum requirements reflect the Officer Recruiting Manual. Recruiting can change dramatically over time – a field recruiter should be aware of the current competitive profiles for each designator. These competitive profiles can be obtained by requesting it from Code 31 – CNRC or from the district’s OPO.

Note it says "minimum." He asked for the "passing" score.

OK, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Is a 50 or higher on the ASTB for Supply still competitive?

I'm applying for Intel, and my recruiter told me that a competitive OAR was 52 or higher, so I'm guessing that 50 or higher is competitive for Supply. 50 is about the average score, so it's good to be above average.

According the gouge I have, you have to do 87 situps, 71 pushups, and 10:30 1.5 mile run to graduate from OCS. I don't think they expect you do do better than that just to get in.

The minimum requirements (again according to the gouge I have) are 46 situps, 37 pushups, and 13:30 1.5 mile run to be accepted into OCS. Obviously you want to far exceed that, but I don't think you have be fit for an NFL combine either.

To anyone who knows: Are PRT scores a big factor on whether or not you get accepted, or are they mostly just to make sure that you're in good enough shape for OCS? Is it weighted more for aviation applicants than for something like intel or supply?

The mins you cited are the same as in the DEP Guide to Success, although who knows how accurate that is currently.

As for PRT scores, I didn't even run one until after my Pro-Rec, so I don't imagine they help or hurt.
