I know this was touched on some in the discussion of the recent HBO movie. Curious as to everyone's thoughts on whether or not this is a good idea.

Seems to me like the decision is in the right hands.

The families of the victims will have the final say on whether to allow the coverage.

I like that the final decision on allowing media coverage is left up to the family...not the politicians or the military.

The previous policy, well-intentioned or not, was open to accusations of political expediency.

The family is all that is left to advocate for the dead...and if they want to grieve in private or in public, it is their call.
