Saw this on another website - good photos of the new AH-1Z and UH-1Y flying. I am having computer problems but the website is www.pprune.org go to the 'rotorheads' section and its about the 3rd or 4rth page with the thread title of AH-1Z and UN-1Y photoshoot. If somebody could post the photos, it would be appreciated.

Is it wrong to be turned on by those pictures of the zulu? No, seriously.

I talked to LtGen McCorkle (Assassin) a few years ago at a Birthday Ball in Annapolis. He was Deputy Commandant for Aviation, and had just recently taken one of the zulus up for a quick flight. I was kind of scared that he was going to steal my identity or something, just to be able to fly it. He was that excited about it. Now that I think about it, so am I.

They were posted here by checksix at some earlier time and thread. Great shots though but now I know where our sh!tty old rocket pods went when we got new ones the one on the huey look really old

Nope, the whiskey definitely ain't too hard on the eyes either. Durable little bastards, too, considering that in 96 we were still opening up boxes filled w/ mud from The Great Pendleton Flood, and it wasn't the mud that caused the gripe.

skidkid, since I'm betting your a lot closer to this than I am, do you have any idea what the current timeline is for bringing the Y and Z online? I keep hearing pretty conflicted things from some friends, Bell's website, and the party line. Just curious.

The latest rumor we are hearing is 2009-2010 the RAG might start a little earlier but that is the latest for an operational squadron. The Huey is taking priority right now because they need the replacement more.
