PLC OCC 195 Forum?

My kid (IWantinan18) just shipped out to Quantico yesterday (06/02/07) to join OCC 195 with a PLC NFO contract.

His little brother is a Marine L/Cpl.

When little brother was at PI there was a web site and forum run by the DI's wives of all things. It was great to be able to keep up with what was going on in the platoon from a distance thru this website.

Is there anything similar on the web for the PLC guys? Will he have any internet access while he is there?

Wish him luck. The little sucker trained a little too hard before leaving and got on the bus with shin splints. Gonna be a rough 10 weeks (or maybe 5)

If he makes it thru he will join a proud Marine tradition with our family.

His grand dad was a Marine pilot (SNJ, HellCats, AD's and Panthers) I was a Marine Grunt and his little brother is a Marine Data Geek.

The very bottom has a photo section that is specific as to which class the photos are from. This is all that I am aware of for OCS candidates.

Looks like you have done well with your boys, they made some good career choices (just like dad).

I think if you go to MarineOCS.com, it will lead you in the right direction. It’s another forum site similar to Air Warriors, but focuses solely on Marine OCS. I believe they have the training schedules for OCC/PLC on their. It may not be that exact for that days training, but it is reliable for the week by week of what they are doing. Good luck to your son!

Shin splints before you get there is pretty tough. He's going to be hurting pretty bad for the next 10wks. Overtraining is the root cause for alot of the attrition that will take place there... I know! As stated, the Marineocs.com page under the parents/visitors link may have pics begining with pickup and continuing through graduation, but they cover all plt's and aren't labeled so keep an eye out for your son. Good luck to him. Did he contract through the Raleigh office?

Yes he went thru Raleigh. I don't know how bad his shin splints were but I know he was a bit concerned but vowed to power thru it. OSO gave me his first OCC PFT scores and while he lost a few pull ups and crunches (to form I'm guessing) his run time wasn't off by very much.

Like most of you guys he is an overachiever type athlete meaning he is pretty good about doing more than people think he can. Steady, not flashy and a come from behind guy. He understands the difference between pain and injury and has had F18 on the brain since he was 10. If his body will just hold together for a few weeks he'll pull this first step off. If not he'll find another way.

I know he really wants it but he may need a little help from the corpsmen to get thru.

Thanks for the info!
