Hey Everybody,

I am going into college soon and I am considering PLC. The Only problem is that i really dont know much about it.. I have searched this forum and cant really find the info. I need. How hard is it to get into PLC? If i do Pass PLC, what are my chances of ACTUALLY getting to fly?

Sorry if this has been asked before

Most of this has been asked. Search the Marine and OCS forums. Noone can tell you your chances to get in so APPLY. OCS is hard but nowhere near impoissible, train for it and you should do fine.
If you make it through OCS with a flihgt contract you will go to flight school whether you complete is totally up to you.
Good luck

Also, try to get in contact with an OSO in your area. They should be able to bear the brunt of your questions plus give you a lot of info. this site probably doesnt have a thread explaining exactly what plc is, but it does talk about it very much. Once you get some info from an OSO, you will come up with all sorts of questions and you will see that most of them are discussed on here.

I just completed PLC combined so feel free to ask away through PM or on here or whatever. Good luck.

This...is...Caketown!
Be sure to ask about the flight/NFO contract. I think the Marines are the only ones to offer such a thing, but I'm not certain of that. Basically, you can get a garunteed flight spot if you pass a flight physical, get a good score on the ASTB (the flight test,) and pass a PFT. There might be other qualifiers, but those are the ones to take care of ASAP. PLC is a good deal, I think. I wish I had known about it before I graduated, hehe. Now I get the OCC program. :icon_mi_1

pretty much...but all it really means is that assuming you pass all your stuff medically and physically, and graduate OCS and TBS, you get to give flight school a slot (as opposed to picking your MOS at TBS, here you already know). I noticed a lot of people (even some at OCS) thinking that they are guaranteed to be pilots or NFOs.

Just throwing that out there for the new crowd that may have not read that on here a thousand times.

If u got any PLC questions u can send me a PM... ill be glad to help... ive got bunch of sites i can find on a dime.

PLC is easiest program to get into, you can get an guarenteed flight contract if you do well on pft, astb, and pass a flight physical.

Contact an OSO as soon as you can, show him you are motivated to go, prove to him through PFT and weekly or bi weekly calls getting confirmation of packet status and asking questions.
