Well I am going to be at OCS Jan 7th 2007. My first question is OCS still in florida? Second question is should i show up a few days early? What is the best way to prepare for OCS mentally?, What is the daily schedule like?, What happens if you get sick?, Do you get bathroom breaks ever? and anything else people want to answer is just fine. I am just trying to prepare myself as well as possible

A lot of these questions have been answered 100 times on this website. Do a search!!! And no...you don't get bathroom breaks while at OCS. Either find time to use the head when you're given the 5 minutes to take a shower or hold your **** for 12 weeks...what a dumb question.

Can you use the head after lights out? Like when you wake up in the middle of the night and really have to go??

The Gunnies are sitting in the hall all night. If you get up and go to the head...you get to go to the rose garden immediately afterwards. So it's up to you I guess of how bad you need to go.

Whatever, don't listen to these guys.

Your life at OCS consists of drinking water, sweating, and pissing.

The key to OCS is to take one day at a time... and in the day take it one class/meal/event/inspection/beating at a time. Don't get worked about what will happen and when --- that takes the fun out of OCS. Just enjoy the pain while it lasts... laugh when you can (somethings will just be to funny for you to not laugh), learn to eat with a spoon, and have fun doing it all... even the stupid things that make no sence.

We had people in my class that OCS was 10 on the above mentioned scale and those of us who thought it was a 2.

The more in shape you are before you go the better you will be.

so you are telling me that one good way to train for OCS is to drink lots of water prior to prepare yourself for being forced to drink alot. and also learn to hold your crap for days at a time and also when you do go do it in less than 15 seconds

And be able to eat an entire meal in about ten minutes.

And be able to eat an entire meal in about ten minutes.

It's more generous...like 20 minutes. :)

But seriously, the hardest part of OCS is the detachment from the outside world. For instance, I was taking a piss at outback in my whites, and a guy pulled up in the next urinal and asked me who won Game x of the world series (he broke a cardinal rule, but that's not the point here). I of course, had no idea.

Also, little things like not being able to order a pizza, or watching college football on Saturdays (unless of course, you have liberty, but that comes later).

Another thing, in college, you pretty much made your own schedule, whereas at OCS you're always being told where you need to go.

Well i guess this is the part i am worrying about the most. Just doing everything in the time they give you. Espically the bathroom part.

I didn't go to Navy OCS so take this for what it's worth. There won't be enough time to accomplish the tasks you are given. You're supposed to fail. It's intended to frustrate you and create a little chaos. Just don't quit.

The bathroom thing will take care of itself...I wouldn't worry about it.
