I got the word today, I am pro-rec SNFO! I applied for Pilot first and NFO second, the SNA board hasn't issued me a pro-rec or non-select yet, but at this point I don't care, its all a flight suit and a helmet to me! Man, I don't know what anyone else felt like when they got their pro-rec, but this is the craziest set of emotions and I just can't get over the fact that I got it. But one thing is for sure, persistance does pay off, if anyone has read my anthro thread you know what I mean. Thanks for everybody's help with everything, AW sure helped me a lot with it all. For those interested my stats were...

24 years old
45 6/8/7 ASTB
3.8 GPA at ERAU B.S. Management of Technical Operations
LOR's from NASA Astronaut and USNR O-6(fmr. A-6 Stick), Current boss )fmr. enlisted), and the Faculty Chairperson of my extended campus branch.

Good luck to everybody applying!

Congrats JoshDavid! I am happy to say that I know exactly how you feel! I got the call from my recruiter today saying that I got accepted as an SNA! It was my second submission to the boards... a little persistence certainly does pay off big time. Thanks once again to this board. Great gouge and great support!

Nice to hear the good news, Josh and TSmith, congratulations. I know when I got the news I could hardly believe it. I half wondered if it had really happened; now I'm past worrying about that and on to worrying about getting the final select, going to OCS, getting through API... One thing I know, this site has been invaluable, and I think it will continue as such.

Thanks guys! Still a little shock factor going on, but its starting to settle. I was totally surprised, I did not expect to get selected on my first attempt. I've got my prt next monday along with turning in the epsq. I'm supposed to be scheduled for my meps appt. when I go for my prt. I consider myself extremely priveliged to have this opportunity. Josh....congrats bro...
just stay focused throughout every evolution you go through. There WILL be plenty of bumps along the way. I just finally got doused in beer this evening for qualifying as patrol plane commander 5 years after I started out.

Cheers

Thats awesome Mumbles. Yea I am very aware of the bumps out there, one step at a time. I also found out that for some reason my kit wasn't reviewed by the SNA board, so its getting a look on the 17th. Man I would sh!t a purple twinkie if I got a pro-rec for Pilot too.

Josh.. I know exactly how you feel... I was prorec'd for SNFO yesterday also... my recruiter called and I was totally freaking out.. He told me that there were three of us out of 25 selected... so I guess you and I make two... wonder where the third is??? Anyway.. congrats man... I'm still not sure it's sunk in with me yet either... The sooner I get to OCS the better... I've been out of a uniform for 7 months now and it's driving me crazy.

Hey guys,

Congrats to everybody. I got pro-rec last week for SNA. And to second someone on this thread now Im starting to worry about the next hurdle. After PRT, background check, and physicals, how long our yalls recruiters telling you its going to be unitl we here back on final rec, and then when will OCS start? Ive heard a 6 month waiting period between final rec and OCS. Dammit thats forever!
