Pro-Rec Question

I have been waiting for the word of my app for over 2 mo now and was wondering if you only here something if you get pro-rec'd. If you are not pro-rec'd do they tell you? Heard from my recruiter that the board for intel met last week or early this week and was wondering why I have never heard anything about being pro-rec'd or not.

You will get word from your recruiter one way or the other. The wait sucks, but you'll feel a whole lot better once you get some news.

The Intel board was completed Thursday. They are in the process of publishing the results. Have your recruiter check results via PORT. My record had not been updated as of this morning; I should hopefully know something by tomorrow. Good Luck.

I have heard of others not hearing back from their recruiter if they get turned down. You will definitely hear back ASAP if you get pro-recd because you will have 1 month from that day to get in your final docs.

I heard back from my recruiter about 32 seconds after he knew I was pro-rec'd. I got a letter in the mail when I was denied.

Do you still get pro-rec'd if all your docs are in from the get go? I turned in everything (epsq, pft, medical, ect) from the very start. I know with relatively high confidence that the intel board met last week (sources on this forum + called the recruiter). Is the point of the pro rec only to start the final app process? You think that I would have heard something by now (app went in on 1 Oct.). Oh well, I guess it's off to the coast guard (DAMN!!). :icon_rage

Don't get too impatient with the wait to hear something about your application. I sent my application in June and that was my second one. My first one was sent in June 2003. As you can see, this process can require a great deal of patience and persistence. Good luck to all.

From what I understood, the pro-rec comes from the community managers who actually conduct the boards (i.e supply, intel, etc). Once this is complete, the package goes back to CNRC and PORT is updated.

I had completed everything at once as well because of the distance from my recruiter. Once I received a pro-rec, he sent the required documents back to CNRC.

My time line was this:

30 August - ASTB Exam

28 September - ASTB Results

8 October - package sent to CNRC

7 December - notificiation of pro rec received.

8 December - Findocs sent. I'm still waiting for the Final Select message.

I had everything from LORs to my entire enlisted service record which I'm sure helped kick this off smoothly. I didn't want the main obstacle to overcome to be myself.

Hmm...you should definitely hear something this week, I would think. The process could get bogged down by the Christmas holiday. Perhaps your recruiter is not in these few days before the holiday? I would call next week though, if you don't hear anything Monday or Tuesday. I know I missed the boards by a few days...grr. Gotta wait till February!!!
