Prowler Anthro question

Hey all,

I'm a SNFO really wanting Prowlers but I'm concerned about anthros. I've done some searching on this site and found a few threads where Prowler anthros were listed, but they seemed to be for SNA. I was wondering if NFOs have different anthro standards because according to the posted stats, I'd be DQ'd from them for functional reach. Anyone have any insight?

I know I've seen the specific anthro limits posted on here before, but I can't remember where. Honestly, I can't remember if there's a difference between the two in the Prowler, but from experience I would say that the functional reach of the pilot is more critical than for the ECMOs.

scuttlebutt around the squadrons is that the anthro requirements are becoming looser in the immediate future. people who were previously anthro-ed out may find themselves eligible again. what it all comes down to is sitting height, not overall height. I know some really tall guys from the prowler community and some average height guys who are anthroed

Functional reach and sitting height = apples and oranges.

Newsflash::: It's official. If you are anthro'd into the T-45 you are no longer antro'd out of the Prowler. (Source: CNATRA) That goes for everybody in the training pipeline who haven't selected yet.

Including the T-2 Studs.

Care to share your knowledges?

There was a rash of guys going down to Pcola to anthro themselves out of Prowlers when I was in T-45s. One managed to anthro himself out of the T-45... while he was flying it.

Brett's right .... apples and oranges ... and "functional reach" NEVER EVEN EXISTED back-in-the-day.

How could it??? You had to safe your seat and shed your harness to give the Rooskies or the occasional P-3 driver a "pressed ham under glass" .... functional reach, my ass (no pun).

Please .... :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:

My functional reach was measured as 28.1", only standards I have seen are >28.5" for Prowlers, so I'm really not that far off. I'm just still trying to figure out if these numbers are for pilots only.
