Question about birth certificate

I have a question before my recruiter turns in my package. My parents made a mistake when filling out my birth certificate, on my birth certificate it says that my father was born in Egypt. My parents should have put Lebanon instead, as this matches his passport which says location of birth is Lebanon. On my SF-86, I put Lebanon as the location of birth for my father because it matches his passport. Will this be an issue? Should I let my recruiter know ASAP?

There's a section of the SF-86 where you can explain/elaborate on other entries. Bring it up with your recruiter and you can either update your SF-86 with all the correct info/explanation, or you can bring it up when you're eventually inerviewed for your clearance. Do what your recruiter recommends.

Either way, they don't ask where your parents are born on the SF-86, just what their citizenship is. Talk to your recruiter and they'll direct you further.

Like Brett said, every application has a general comments section. You are better off being totally upfront with the issue and while I don't "know", I would guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal. So, your birth certificate has an administrative mix-up about where you Dad was born. As long as were YOU were born is correct, then you should be fine.

Unlike talking up the opposite sex in a social setting, total disclosure is always best when it comes to applications and security clearance questionnaires.
