Question about run-ins with the law.

First off I'll tell you a few things about myself. Currently I attend University of Pittsburgh majoring in Civil Engineering. Tomorrow I am scheduled to take the ASTB test and I've been preparing for the past month. I was reading through the BDCP gouge stickied at the top of this forum and I am now worried about being accepted into BDCP. I have had two run-ins with the law. One run-in with the law being an underage drinking citation and another run-in, a disorderly conduct for drinking alcohol as a minor. I am applying for a Pilot and NFO position but with those two misconducts on my record do I even stand a chance? Mind you they were both citations and not a felony or misdemeanor but it is still something on my record. Any advice on what I should do would be appreciated.
Thanks

Just make sure that any waiver request you make clearly states that you understand that the kind of immature behavior you previously conducted yourself with is not what is expected of a commissioned officer. Lots of guys have done stuff worse than you and still gotten in so dont sweat it to bad.

I think my husband had to write some real formal letter - one of those "I was dumb and immature and have learned my lesson" types for a speeding violation he had when he was applying for BDCP. Like Lawman said...lots of people have done worse things...

Look at the bright side...at least you won't be able to underage drink when you're 21. It's not like you had a DUI or were snortin' crack.

Don't think speeding violations are a big deal. If I had to write a formal letter for every speeding violation i'd receieved during my BDCP application submittal, my application would have been mailed to Millington in a crate, not an envelope.

Thanks for the responses. I was scheduled to take the ASTB Wednesday but the computer was down :icon_rage so now I'm scheduled for Tuesday.
I have a few questions about extra curricular activities. In high school I had the time to do some activities such as Civil Air Patrol, Varsity soccer, I dirt biked professionally and a bunch of other little things. On top of that I worked 20-30 hours a week to save money for college. When applying for BDCP do they only look at what you have done since graduating high school?
My first year at college I decided to take it easy and just make sure my grades were above the average (3.2 right now) and so I have no activities to speak of. Recently, I joined a steel bridge club (we design bridges) and was thinking about volunteering at the local church on Sundays. If I plan on applying in the next 2 months or so should I try and join some more clubs or do they only count leadership roles as important? Some friends of mine want to create a mock investment club if I can help co-found the club would that help on the application? Thanks.
