Questions about IFS

Im gonna be checking into TBS most likely in March, I've heard that new 2nd LTs can go to Introductory Flight School either before TBS or concurrently while attending TBS. If this is true, how do you request to be placed there and what exactly does it do for you? I have a long ways to go until TBS and want any and every training that is available to me, complacency kills.

If when you check into TBS in March, you get rolled to Mike Co. for a slew of reasons (some out of your control), you may have the option to attend IFS while waiting for the next company to pick up. Cons to this are that you still have to live in the BOQ if you are single, and thus, don't receive BAH.

Option 2 is that you will attend IFS after graduating TBS (as most do) in Manassass, VA or MAYBE, MAYBE Pcola. Pros to this are that you are afforded the opportunity to live off base, and thus, receive $1282 BAH!

It is not possible to attend TBS/IFS concurrently while in a training company.

Beg borrow and steal your way to Quantico, as mentioned before you can do IFS before classing up. Getting orders there is the trick, there is plenty of waiting for training down the line.

Better hurry up before you get replaced by a UAV.
