Randomly had to take ASTB... What?!?

Everyone in our nrotc unit had to take the ASTB... so I just took it randomly and had no idea the format/questions/etc... can someone just quickly recap what is a passing score or a good score? I got a 7/7/7 57, is that an average score? What did each number mean?

I heard that instead of service selection the Navy is going more toward service assignment, would this score make them or less likely to assign me aviation? I honestly just clicked through all the answers with whatever first came to mind, and now I'm worried that was a bad decision. help!!

I got those exact scores. They're pretty good. Nice job considering you didn't study for it.

They're doing the same thing here. Even seniors that have already service selected SWO/Subs have to take it. I assume they're more interested in the OAR than the aviation scores, but who knows...

Are there any NROTC instructors lurking on here that know what's up?

Hey thanks a lot. I was attempting to search the threads but there are so many different answers and I didn't even know it was out of 9. So the OAR is the officer aptitude rating - I bet that is why we all have to take it... interesting.

Ok, sorry, this is getting awkward. Now that I've actually read some posts I understand I'll be fine... just freaked out after the test because it seemed like low numbers for that many questions, and I didn't want to ask any of my friends out of embarassment. Good luck to everyone, don't want aviation so you can have my spot!! :tongue2_1
