Refresh drops at OCS

As the title eludes to, are you allowed to bring refresh drops while at OCS? Can you get a waiver? I don't REALLY need them I guess but i'm 7months out of PRK and sometimes in the mornings they still are pretty dry and its nice to use the drops. Should I start weening off of them now or is it possible to get a waiver or an Okay to use them from the powers that be?

You'll need a prescription for it if you want to use it "officially". I had some eye drops that I just kept out of sight, but I hardly ever used it.

Ween yourself off.....you need to be able to make your own tears which will also help with your eye exam, improving your accuity because of the natural lens properties of your tears.

Bagder, sorry to thread-jack your thread, but my question relates to yours. I'm just wondering how hard it is to get a perscription for something at OCS. I had ankle surgery in April and was givn a boot-like apparatus for icing purposes and though my ankle is doing fine I use it regularly. Anyone think it would be possible to get a doctors note to have that in my room for icing in free time or at night just as a preventitive measure since I did have surgery??

Bring any prescription meds with you and the docs will get you set up there. (if you really do, in fact, need them)

In P'cola we had an "Ice Body" who got ice for anyone who needed or wanted it each night. Don't know if they're doing that in RI.

They have an ice machine in a laundry room thats available for everyone. Anyone can use it after dinner or taps for that matter.

You won't have any problems making your own tears at OCS. There are nice people there who are more than willing to help you out in that department.

Should I start listening to emo music? haha. Seriously though I am down to about one a day sometimes none. It would just be nice to have for those days I wake up with really dry eyes. Thanks for the info everyone.

Cheers.
