Release from Reserves for BDCP

Hello, this is my first post. I am a Junior at ERAU's Fort Eustis campus and trying to get into BDCP for SNA. I have A PPL currently and was wondering if anyone has gotten a release from the reserves (I'm an IS) to go BDCP. I've seen a thread about this before but didn't give me a first person view. Also, I wanted to know what the current Naval Aviator status is and if the Navy is hurt for pilots. The major airlines have just kicked up hiring and I would think that would make staying in the Navy with deployments every other year harder to stand. Thanks for any info on these two subjects.

I had a guy in my class who was a prior in the AF for 10 years who got picked up for BDCP with a conditional release from the AF while he was in the reserves. It is possible. Just find out about that conditional release. I'm sure it can be done.
