Reporting to Pensacola

My bf is about to finish up TBS in June and I was wondering when you think he may receive his orders. I know there usually is a huge wait to get to API - but from what you know, how quickly do they try to send Marines down to Pensacola after they graduate TBS?

Alpha company, right? I was Alpha last year. He should receive his orders right before he graduates TBS. They are pretty flexible with the amount of time to get to Pcola (within reason). He will just have to talk to his company staff to make sure his orders allow him to take any leave in route or anything like that.
The wait to start API can vary, some people can hop in within 2 months, others can be 6+ months. Its all about timing, but he can expect a little break. That being said, he might have a stash job to take up his time.
Now, if he hasn't done IFS, they might have him stay and do it in Quantico. Some people came down here at did it as well, so that varies too.

He finished IFS before going to TBS. I just thought it would be amazing if for some reason he got a stash job around here (I live near and work in DC) but I know that's not really possible. So I was just trying to figure out how much time I'll have with him before he heads down to Pensacola - and also how long it'd be for him waiting once he's down there to actually start API.

He can try to get PTAD during the wait for API.

I work at the Navy Annex for I&L in DC. We had a bunch of LT's show up and work for us for about 3 months before going on to P-Cola for flight school.
