Holy smokes...50 minutes from NASP? Sorry, that's just waaaay too far for me to drive in the morning. Shoot...my drive is 17 miles and I feel like it takes forever.

Well, thanks for letting me know.

actually, that's not a bad location. It's all about carpooling to NASP while you're going there. Right now the wait seems to be right about 2-1/2 to 3 months before starting API. So figure about 4 months to maybe 6 months at the longest having to drive to NASP. After that, you'd be set perfect for Whiting. Honestly, from the location they say their house is, I could make that drive in about 30-35 minutes. Especially with it being just off of I-10. Do you guys drive the speed limit the whole way??

I can make it in less than 40 most days, actually, but 50 if the traffic is bad. Still haven't figured out the best route. Either I-110, exit 4 Farfield Rd to 295 to Navy Blvd, or I-110 all the way to 98W to Barrancas. 295 has a lot of lights which never seem perfectly timed, but to get from I-110 to 98W you have to go through downtown, which also adds delays.

Of course, we Coasties don't spend nearly as much time at NASP, so the location is great.
