They weren't talking about the Marine. The thread got jacked into a discussion of mishap rates and such with some side jokes on that subject. That's actually a more valuable takeaway than the usual speculation on mishap causes that these threads usually spawn or the bullshit "prayers for the family" posts people put out for someone they didn't know. Unfortunately, the trigger for the discussion (and the jokes) was an announcement of the mishap. Nonetheless, I'd rather see some talk about how the next mishap could be prevented than lingering on the last.

I don't think anyone meant any disrespect, so swallow your emotional response and say where you'd rather have the thread do, or should we put a stick up in the forum stating,"no discussion of aviation mishaps?"
