Scores and question

I took the ASTB recently for the first time. I'm applying for SNA then NFO.

6/7/7 : 54

I think they're decent and my buddy got SNA with 7/8/8 : 59 about 3 months ago.
I have a BS in Aeronautical Management Technology with a spec. in professional flight. 3.3 GPA.
Currently I flight instruct and have 350+ hours.

Anybody else close to submitting their packet and have scores?

Does anyone know what the Navy is in need of pilots for? I'll be happy regardless as long as I'm up in the sky.

Your ASTB scores slightly above average.
GPA & major fine (what school).
CFI/flight hours don't hurt, but not a big advantage in the selection process, as some applicants may think.

Keep comparing your stats with your peers as they post, and you'll become aware of how you stack up overall.

They need pilots for all communities, the numbers are dynamic and vary with time. What they need now will undoubtedly be totally different than 2-3 years down the road if/when you arrive at a 'winging'. Nothing for you to be concerned about at this point.;)

OMG...wouldn't we all! It doesn't work that way in the USN, unless you end up a Blue Angel at some point. Put more time into researching the info here on AW. You will find tha Naval/Marine/USCG Aviators are Officers FIRST, and flying is a lesser part of the job, along with collateral duties such as Division leaders, watchstanders, meetings, briefings schools, and much more. If just FLYING is what you're all about, check out the USAF. Of course then you'll never get to enjoy the pure ecstacy of a night, max gross catapult shot in shi**y WX, on a wave swept pitching deck, or a glorious night approach in heavy rain squalls, to a wallowing, rolling, slippery flight deck. Heaven on a bun!;)
