Selected for Intel BDCP

I got word yesterday morning that I was finally selected for Intel BDCP (two months after ProRec). I graduate in December, so it's a short-lived money-for-nothing window, but good all the same. Tentatively, I understand my OCS date is sometime in February...anyone else reporting at the same time?

Good luck to all awaiting selection and keep the faith.

I've just begun the preocess of applying for BDCP. I'll graduate in May 0f '07 if accepted, any tips? I take the ASTB on Aug 10th. How did the PRT and physical go for the program, pretty strict?

Hey, man. As a recent BDCP selectee, my tips are as follows: 1) Be Meticulous in every aspect of the process, and keep the word figuratively capitalized; 2) Play to your "audience" (the board) and be highly expressive of your motivations and goals (imagine what you would be looking for if you were sitting on the board, and tell them from your heart exactly why you're not only willing to accept a thankless and underpaying job, but will not willingly accept any substitute--they're trying to get a sense of your drive); 3) Study the gouges (go to ASTB section of forum) as best you can by devoting enough attention and time to them, but my ASTB score was a 44, so don't place excessive importance on it; 4) (The hardest) Be patient and keep faith because the decision will probably take longer than you want it to, and that's when self-doubt sets in. A lot of people on this site helped me immensely and I'm grateful. Carefully comb the site...there's some invaluable stuff here...

Other than that, I wish you the best and hope you get your butter bars in '07.
