Selection board meetings

So I was at the Seattle NRD today, and my OPO showed me a hard copy paper saying that pilot/nfo/swo boards are now being done every other friday. I have no reason to beleive this is bum gouge, maybe others on the board here can confirm or deny. I am not sure of the dates of when the boards are conducted, but I don't doubt this to be true as the paper was from CNRC. Not sure whether this is a good or bad thing, just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

I have seen results of selection boards and the norm is two boards a month, every other Friday. My package got sent in earlier during a week and I got selected before that Friday. The boards probably can meet whenever they want and just follow a guideline.

The boards over the holidays were a little weird. I've had my app in since early November and due to the vagaries of scheduling around Thanksgiving and Christmas, I hadn't heard anything until today. At any rate, I got the pro-rec for pilot, so I'm happy.

Apparently, wait times vary considerably. I put my application in last week and found out today that I was pro-rec for SNA. I don't think it has quite sunk in yet....

No kidding port_tack. I'm still waiting for it to sink in as well. I'm trying not to get too excited since there is still quite a bit of work left to do, but it's great news nonetheless.

Lucky bastards :) , I just put my 2nd application in, got the no-go on the 1st time around. Congratulations to you guys though, getting the pro-rec is the hardest part I think.

Hey Josh, who's your recruiter? I've been working with Lt. Branch out of Seattle (no officer recruiters in MT, there's actually one in Spokane, but I got hooked up with the Seattle office through Navy.com for whatever reason); I was able to meet him once, just one of those lucky things where he happened to come to town on business.

Also, what was the timeframe for getting selected? My understanding was that your application wouldn't be decided on until the second board after your application was received. Mine was sent off Tuesday the 24th and I haven't heard anything yet. I'm not getting my hopes up: all I'll say is I hope I don't wet myself if I do get selected.
