Why are the IR suppression devices on the exhaust ducts of the MH-60S, but not the SH-60R? That doesn't make sense to me. Why not put them on both?

I'm looking at a pic of the MH-60R right now in the Naval Institutes June issue... there is an IR suppression system on it. Located behind the rotor in between the engine exhaust.

The disco ball is an IR jammer. It tries to fool a missile. A suppression system cools the exhaust so that an IR (heat-seeking) missile has less to see.

One word.. weight. Block 1 bravos are allready on the heavy and they did not get rid of a whole lot of equipement on the romeos.

Well, I ask because I know they want to fit all sorts of neato stuff like forward firing machineguns, etc on the Romeo. Just seems strange.
