I am really happy I just got my OCS date and am going to be sworn in early next week. The sucky thing is I didn't get the BDCP option. I had been applying for the BDCP program and got accepted. The thing is when I finally got my OCS date and was able to be sworn in I was told I wasn't accepted in through the BDCP program. It is dissapointing but I am glad I got the spot. Can anyone else relate.

I'm not sure why you didn't get into the BDCP, if they already told you that you were accepted. The hard part is getting accepted into the program...once you do that, you are automatically given an OCS date. The reason being, its harder to get into BDCP than it is to apply for OCS directly. Hmmm....I really don't know why it happened like that. Well, good job on getting a date though...that's a WHOLE lot more than most people can say right now. Good luck!

That might have something to do with it. I wish it were different, BDCP is great; but the biggest thing is, now you've got your spot.

I was sworn in at the end of April of this year, and my recruiter told me if I had waited until the year was over I would have gotten an OCS date but no BDCP, so I am assuming that is what happened to you, just a little to late.

That sucks. I just found out on Thursday that I have been accepted into OCS for NFO. My recruiter said that I got the BDCP. I will be sworn in at the beginning of October. I hope they don't have any "surprising" news for me.
