Shiite Militias pullout of fight for Tikrit

Just saw this and thought it was interesting. Most articles say it was at US request, but the NY times says otherwise. So far the NY times article is the only one I've seen that makes it seem like the Militias backed out because they don't trust/feel the need for coalition air forces.
