Should I act or be more patient?...Oops! I made it!!!!

As any enlisted can tell you, assembling an OCS package requires patience, favors, connections, fresh cookies from the galley :icon_tong etc... But how much patience?

The last I've heard from my package is that it was received in time for the June board, I e-mailed the processor to confirm this. Since then, nothing. I e-mailed my CCC for her to check on earlier this week, and in a nutshell she says to wait longer.

I just want to know where it is, if it's missing anything, if it's on hold for any reason, because the sooner I know, the sooner I can fix it in time for the next board.

I am toying with the idea of calling CNRC directly, just to have some clue about it's status. I know of many enlisted who have already been notified of their results. I just don't know what could be holding it up.

So, think I should take matters into my own hands or just play out the waiting game?

That is a tough one. I think it is something you just have to decide for yourself. Does anyone else in your command have anything to do with the officer programs? I would start by talking to the CCC in person, and discussing my concerns with her face to face. Make sure you keep your chain of command informed on whatever you decide to do. You don't want one aw Sh!@# to screw up all your hard work.

Hell I would call. The board results are done so your call shouldn't piss anyone off too bad. Just make sure your COC knows you are calling. Talk to your Div O and see if he/she can call for you.

Some news...

Thank you all for the replies, this board is truly filled with great, helpful people. I hope down the line I can help others who have these same kind of questions.

A funny thing happened today while I was standing M-60 bridge wing watch. My CO walks up to me, and extends his hand. "Congratulations."

I look at him and go, "huh?"

"You didn't hear? You're going to OCS"

I don't remember much of what happened after, some handshakes I think, but... WOW...

I'm still freaking out, I don't even know my leave date yet lol. NFO, here I come. !!

It figures right after I post this, I get the good news haha

more surprises

^^ Thanks. This day has been like a blur so far :) I love the edit to my post too, I almost blew mountain dew all over my keyboard when I read it.

I just found out from the welcome letter I report to OCS this August 18th. Yikes talk about short notice, but it's the Navy I'm used to it.

On another note it also turns out I got SWO! I'm still excited as heck, but I seriously never considered I'd get picked up for SWO. It was my second choice, I knew it was very, very competitive, and to my knowledge they needed NFO's more. But having worked with a lot of SWO's on my ship (and cleaned their heads, did their laundry, etc.) I'm absolutely convinced I'm gonna have a great time. What a day!

Not belittling your accomplishment because it is huge. Just throwing out a little black shoe / brown shoe razzing....

Again Congrats!
