Should I push my recruiter a bit?

I know waiting is part of the game, but I really hate the feeling that there's nothing I can do. Here's my situation, can someone give me a little advice?

28/F
Applying for Public affair/Intel/SWO
2 BA in graphic design and multi-media, GPA 3.25; 3.78
ASTB: 5/6/5/56 (I'm not happy with it, but my recruiter assured me I don't need to take it again).
PRT: Good High (for someone who haven't exercise for 10 years, I did my best)
5 LOR from previous employers and college professors.
Experience as marketing director and art director for various companies.

No community service, but on the Dean's and presidents honor's list.

I started the process in January, have been running around tracking paperwork, and finally get everything they asked for. After I took the PRT last week, the recruiter told me there's really nothing I can do at this point other than waiting for to be scheduled for the medical exam. At first I've been pushing for the March board, I've had my medical records complete early this month, but for some reason, they just won't schedule the medical exam. Is this normal, or something wrong with my documents? should I ask my recruiter? I don't want to be a pain...I know he's probably very busy.

What should I do next? more waiting? Should I apply for other jobs just in case something goes wrong? Waiting is killing me.

I think you are moving extremely fast through the process, I started the process back in August and just now heard back from my 3rd choice (SWO) board.

I still have yet to hear back anything from Supply my 2nd choice and only the board gods know when my first choice board will meet.

Just chill out, as they say, hurry up and wait!

thanks guys, just talking about it makes me feel a lot less stressed out...waiting is just not my thing...If I don't need that MEPS for the board...Maybe I should call my recruiter tomorrow and see if he handed in my package. I asked him when I finish the PRT if I can make the March board, and he said he's pushing it.

Don't worry too much. You're going to have to wait at times. I started the process in February of 2008 and swore in late in July.

Good luck!

Relax. You'll need to learn to develop some patience.

Hey, enjoy your time though, once you start it's a crazy ride.

LOL, I know...I know...That's a problem with me. Most of the time, I'm pretty lay back, but when I have a goal in sight, that's all I can think of, I'll do whatever it takes to get there. And then I'll set up a new goal...and get there...that pretty much sums up my life.

But, you're right, I need to be pacient.

Feifei-
Hey. I know how you feel. I am in the same boat. I would say that you have to make friends with your Officer Processor. He/She can tell you the things you need to do to get your package ready. Mine was very helpful. I am ready to get this party started as much as you are...but I know it is a great time to get in tip-top shape, make some money, and travel before I make the huge commitment. Good luck to you.

I started filling out my apps and whatnot the week before Thanksgiving. I just found out this past week that I was selected for SNA. Just give it some time and be prepared to have to wait. Its aggravating as heck but eventually it will all pay off trust me. The feeling that I had when I found out that I got selected made it all worth it

The gentleman (I think he was the OPO) who worked for my recruiter worked his butt off to get everything taken care of. We were in contact almost daily until I got everything in. I was actually 2 days late on getting my stuff in for the January Boards. Just be proactive and call your OR all the time and make sure that everything is in. It also helped that I could get most of my measurements and stuff done next door to my office at the NROTC office on my campus

Well, just got off the phone with my recruiter. He's actually on sick leave...But he answered my call anyway. He's a super nice guy, now I feel bad. He said the March Board is full, so I didn't make it. But I have my package ready for April. And he said since we have time, might as well get my medical exam done even I don't need it for the board.

And "No, there's nothing you can do." ....Gosh...I hate it! I'd reather be busy as hell than waiting.
