SNA A-Pool wait time?

Just curious...heading down sometime this fall and didn't know how long I could expect. Any help? Also, does the wait time change throughout the year? (i.e. longer just after all the USNA/ROTC grads commission?) Thanks.

anticipate anywhere between 3-6 months after check-in. Also depends on ifs complete upon report.

What fezz said is right according to my friends in pensacola now. There is a rumor though (i said RUMOR) that the wait will be a lot less this june.

Im sure if you want to go to vance, you will class up the next day......;)

Hey Mules,
Before I classed up, LT H (the LT who is in charge of A-pool) said the wait time was going to be getting less and less as we move into summer. As for predicting the wait time for fall, I really couldn't tell ya. You could be like freese and class up 2 weeks after commissioning or like me and wait 5 months (we both commissioned on July 30). The only thing I know for sure is to get out of daytona ASAP!

According to word from LT H, he's actually going to run out of SNAs around June this year, then all the USNA grads come in shortly thereafter. I know guys who came down last august as SNAs with IFS and went to Whitting who classed up in around two weeks. I came down in October and had to wait almost 6 months. It all depends on when you get down and how many slots are open

Woohoo! Just got my orders for 2 June. Actually, that's the rumor I heard too...shortage of SNA's reporting in June...

Yeah. That's the going word from schools command. How true it will end up being, who knows. I was also told I'd class up in about a month, which then became 2, then 4, then 6. So, be prepared for anything. Either way, enjoy your A-pool time. Get SCUBA qualed, buy a boat, whatever. And no matter what, do not take a stash job unless you have to. They tell you taking a stash job will get you classed up faster, but I don't know how true that is. I classed up with a group of guys I checked in with, a few who had stash jobs... Plus, is being stuck in A-pool so bad that you want to get out there that bad?? All pay no work...

Concur. Unless u get stashed back in your hometown for OHARP (voluntary). If theres nothing for me to do, i get sent home. Usually before lunch. Life is good.

How long after graduation do people usually report to P-Cola? Do you typically get orders prior to your grad date and if not how much afterward? I know people at my unit have been typically doing IFS locally after graduation. I will be a SNFO if that makes a difference.
