I just met with an officer recruiter and he said because I was a non-technical major that I cannot apply until 18 months before my graduation? Any truth to this?

Im going to use the next 6 months to get ready. Plenty of stuff to do. One last question, Ill have like 86 units (90 would be the end of your sophomore year technically) will they not see that as completion of 2 years? I will be taking summer school anyways to pick up 8 units, so at worst it delays it 5 weeks. However as said, I would prefer to avoid extra delays.

My advice to you is to get all of your LOR's sent in NOW, your astb taken NOW... Completely fill out your application for commission, do your EPSQ NOW, your PFT dont and sent in now, and do meps now. You can get everything sent in now, but you have to be within 2 yrs of graduation for your NRD to submit the package to millington. Just remember, your are losing $2500 plus a month if it takes any longer than needed to.

That is correct. Every day you wait, is a day lost. It took me 10 months to get into the program. You need to start ASAP.

Hmm... Ill ask them when i talk to them next. The guy I spoke to said that everything expires in 6 months from being turned in, and therefore I should wait.

I don't think number of credit hours finished will be something they look at; it would more be the number you have left, as shown in the degree plan - as long as you are graduating within 24 months of application, it should be acceptable. Granted, this information is from my logical reasoning based on the requirements that I know of, which doesn't always compute to what the Navy actually does, so I could be wrong.

RHPF,
If you are applying for the BDCP for a SNA slot, then a non-technical major can apply no more than two years prior to the date at which they will be available for OCS. If you aren't applying for the BDCP but simply for a SNA slot, then nobody, technical and non-technical majors alike, can send in their application until they are within 18 months of the date at which they will be available for OCS. Simply put: BDCP for non-technical major-two years before, regular commission and flight training-year and a half before (At the most).
