SNA on BDCP?

I wanna go Fast!
Hey Guys, I'm new to this site, and i've learned alot of good information here so far. Here is a little info about myself. I'm 21 years old. I'm a junior in college majoring in aviation. I have about a 1 1/2-2 years left. My GPA after this semester will be right above a 3.0. I have my private cert. with about 190 hours and I'm waiting to take my instrument check ride, and when I graduate I'll have everything through my CFI. The recuritor I've been talking to said that I could be contracted in as a SNA in the BDCP, and all i would need to do is take the ASTB. I've started studying for it, and I've found the gouge on here, but can I really get contraced in the BDCP for a pilot slot? Is there anything else I should do/take besides the ASTB?

I know its going to be hard as hell to get a slot, but its my dream so i'm willing to do what it takes. Would the BDCP be a good way to get into Naval aviation, it sounds like a great deal. I know my GPA is a low, and I've signed up to retake a few classes next semester to raise it. I appreciate any help or information you guys have.

Yes, you can really contract to be a pilot. Read this site and talk to your recruiter a lot. It is a good deal once you get out of OCS. Start looking into OCS because it is a big obstacle.

Well, some people only spend three months at OCS, others spend more....;)

BDCP is a very good deal. Tom and I both did BDCP for SNA and I definitely give it a big :thumbup_1

Apply and see what happens. The selection board looks at the whole package, not just your GPA or ASTB scores.

ASTB among a thousand other hoops to jump through. The biggest weeding-out process in Navy (and other service) officer accession programs is the application process. I was BDCP SNA currently in Corpus Christi for Primary Flight training. You really CAN do it. BDCP is too good to be true, but it really is true. APPLY. Oh, and ya OCS sucks balls.
