entering 3rd year of a 5 year mechanical engineering degree
recruiter said nobody has come out of idaho in a long while and that will help me a great deal

You got a couple things on your side, the first one is time, it good to see that your applying so far in advance. Sports helped out my package immensly (sp?). So you got those things and the ASTB score is not to bad. If your the first one to apply for '08 your chances are better now then they will be later... gl.

ouch :( , only one cares to give a little input, I've looked around and I think I have a feel for where I stand but I may see the world through diffrent eyes. Anyone been selected or at least pro rec with lower scores and GPA??

Like Kyntryboy said, time is on your side. I wouldn't try to hide NROTC, but show it in the best possible light. Otherwise, it could really go either way for you. Your scores and GPA are average, so there will be better candidates out there, but there will also be worse ones. Timing is everything...

I dunno man. The navy only likes guys with skills. Like bowhunting skills, nunchuck skills, computer hacking skills. :-D I keed I keed.

Package looks good man. All I can say is timing and numbers. The selectability (<-new word) of your package is solely dependant on their needs, and the timing, as well as the other apps in the stack. The only way you will know how competitive it is, is if you submit it. So get on with it!! Roll the dice! Good luck and let us know what happens.
