Spatial Apperception section/ help with math

Persistent

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting. Forgive me if this is a repeat. I found this great tool for learning and passing the Spatial Apperception section. I haven't seen this one floating around on this site so I thought I'd add it. It gives great tips and rules for easy and quick learning.

Also, I am scheduled for the ASTB on September 27th. My main concern is the math portion of the test. I have all of the gouges and the study guide. (Thank you everyone who shared) However, I am a visual learner and cannot afford a tutor. Math is like the Dlab to me. I have an app on my phone called Your Teacher and it taught me everything I needed for the asvab. What I am really asking is if anyone can tell me what type of math is depicted on the gouges and study guide? I know its algebra and geometry but is that high school algebra or college algebra and how far do I need to go. Is studying from those sources enough to get me into Navy OCS?

Thanks :)

Its all about the concepts. If you can take what the question is asking and put it into a formula, the rest is easy. Your over thinking it. As a visual learner, it should be easy for you.

ex: A Marine fired X rounds of ammo, gave 2X to his buddy, and had 27 remaining in a magazine. If they all accounted for 120 rounds in all then X=?

Always focus on what the problem is asking you for. In this case, its asking for the missing number X
Visualize you having 120 rounds. You shoot a certain amount X. Well how ever many you shot, take that number multiply it by two. Thats what you hand to your friend.
So, you shot a certain amount of ammo + gave 2(times) that amount to your friend and you still have 27 left. To account for 120 total.

X+2X+27= 120
3X+27=120
3X=93
X=31 rounds you shot to begin with
