I just got a stag arms AR-15 lower receiver, while I was installing the trigger guard and the first time I hit the punch on the pin it cracked the hand guard flange. I had the receiver stable on a block of wood covered with some towels as I read on ar15.com Stag Arms is closed all weekend but anyone else have any problems like this and what is the likelyhood of Stag replacing my lower?

Yeah here are the pics. I'm not sure what to do from here. I hope stag will replace it.

Dude, that sucks. I have no idea, but good luck. Got any pics?

That sucks.

I am sure you have seen this on STAG's website-

"....All unused unopened products may be returned within 30 days. A restocking fee of 15% will be assessed on all purchases over $100. All returns must be approved in advance by calling 860.229.9994 and speaking with a technical representative. If a manufacturing defect or workmanship error is present, please contact Stag Arms to discuss having the item repaired or replaced."

I'd call and be very nice.......

I'm going to put on my biggest ass kissing face when I call them. Mention I will prob buy their upper in a few weeks. I could see though where they could try and say its not their fault. We'll see on Monday I guess

My 2T should be delivered in about three weeks and I'd love to see how your situation evolves as far as customer service goes. Please let us know how it ends up.

I'm new the the AR world and am cautiously concerned that this area in the lower is that fragile. God- I guess I'm too used to my Norinco 56S. I've misused and accidently abused it and nothing will break- it just won't stop firing. I look forward to the Stag's performance, they have a good history of service.

Keep us in the loop please.

I went back to the gun store today, they were nice about it. They said if Stag won't fix the problem they will try and help. The guy said Stag is real good about fixing they product though, we'll see monday.

good to go. Im optimistic. In my limited experience, I have never seen a break there, so I really cant see them seriously trying to pass it off as "builders error". My lower is a Stag, and I have had nothing but experiences working with them.

Talked to Stag Arms this morning, they are going to remanufacture the receiver, but they are so backed up the turn around time is 6-8 weeks! At least they are going to fix it.

I got my new receiver right before Xmas, and then ordered a Palmetto State Armory 5.45x39 16" upper receiver. Got the receiver the other day, and just got my 1080 rounds of bulgarian surplus for $120 from Sportsman's Guide
