Your service may be "free," but it's driving traffic to your site utilizing this site as a conduit. It's understandable that some may want to monetize that traffic. I can't tell you whether Webmaster wants to do that or not, but at least give him the option. I recommend you PM him to ask permission and if he's good with it, you can repost.
Webmaster is a busy guy with the demands of the real world, so it may take a day or two (or three) for him to get back to you, but please at least give him the courtesy.
