Submitting my OCS Package

Hello, I am new to the OCS "world" and not applying for pilot or nfo however, I find this site amazing and was wondering if I could get some help.

I am 3 months out from transfering to my new duty station and I noticed the new OCS instruction states that you are not authorized to submit your OCS package within the 3 month time frame before you transfer.

Is there a loop hole or waiver or anything that I can do to get around this? I am going to a training command and will not be able to submit my package once I get there... I believe they have a mandatory of 2 years at the duty station before they will allow anyone to submit their package and I really don't want to wait that long if I can keep from it.

I appreciate any help that I can get. Thanks

Hi,

I just applied for OCS and this rule bit me. I waited too long to submit my package and I didn't meet the 90 day requirement. The processor call me and told me he couldn't do anything with my package unless I got a letter from the CO of my new command stating that he is okay with me leaving the command if I am selected. Even with this letter I still had to call my detailer and have him give me the 30 days I needed to meet the requirement. Basically you have to have 90 days left in your current command to apply, the detailer can help you by extending your PRD a little bit and if you are too close to 90 days you still need to get a letter from your new CO because if you are selected it takes longer than 90 days to make to OCS. This was big for me, but fortunately the detailer and the CO of the new command I'll be going to were able to help. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. I've been applying for OCS for a while. Take care.
