Summer Cruise to SanDiego

Hey,
Im going on my 3rd class cruise to sandiego. I was wondering if anyone has any advise on how to get quals in the aircraft out there? Anyone else going out to Cali for cruise?

As a Midn you dont get quals in anything. You will get asked a few medical questions and then depending on space and what you tell them you want to fly, they will try and get you 1 ride in something. Either a helo, P-3, S-3, etc. Good luck getting a ride in an F-18. When I went only 3 guys got one. I got a ride in an S-3 with some stick time. However if you ask around you might get 1 or 2 more rides depending on who you ask and how. When you do your 1st class cruise, you will do some abbreviated training and get an upchit to officially ride in an aircraft if you get attached to a squadron for that. I got quite a bit of sticktime in an SH-60 for mine.
