Summer Cruise

I am applying to BDCP this winter. Would i be eligable for a summer cruise this summer?

to my knowledge BDCP does not include summer cruises. Only USNA and NROTC does.

Yeah, BDCP has no summer cruise. Besides man, why would you want to? Take the money, have a great summer. When else will you get that much money to just spend on yourself?

I wish they did offer summer cruise...I'm too far in my college career to go ROTC though.

summer cruise rocks! i got to go to the Mediterranean. Naples, Sigonella Siciliy, Whitewater rafting in Croatia, playing with monkeys on Gibraltar, quick stop in the Azores Portugal.. got to roam free on a guided missile destroyer AND I was getting paid!

Yeah, BDCP has no summer cruise. Besides man, why would you want to? Take the money, have a great summer. When else will you get that much money to just spend on yourself?

How about these reasons:
1- U will actually have somewhat of a clue about what the fleet is actually like.
2- Might help when making service selection or aircraft selection (it did for me)
3- Get to travel to cool places (I went to scottland)
4-Get to see some of the different sides of the Navy, other than the one you want to join (IE aviation (the different types), SWO, Sub).

Summer cruise is one of the best deals in a college accession program. IMHO that is the biggest drawback to BDCP.

mmmmm reminds me of spending the past summer hanging out in Waikiki with my buddies. Of course....I spent 27 days banging my head against the bulkhead in a fast attack.......boooooooorrrrrriiiiiiing.

ehh i was hoping BDCP had a summer cruise option. Are there any options, such as spending a week on a ship? I have no idea what life as an officer at sea is like, and I feel its important to find out before signing over the next 9 years of my life.

go do NROTC or talk to your recruiter and see if he can swing something.
