Supply Interview for OCS - NAS Whidbey

Commissioned 17 AUG 2012
Hello again everyone! I am currently transferring from NAS Jacksonville to NAS Whidbey Island and I am submitting an OCS package as soon as I arrive (or ASAP after arriving). The only thing I have left is a supply interview. I currently have interviews for 2 pilots (O-5 and O-6), 1 SWO (O-5) and will probably have 1 more O-5 NFO before transferring. My number one choice however is Supply and I have yet to find anyone for an interview. If there are any O-5 or above Supply Officers in the Washington area that are available to do an interview at the beginning of August or possibly sooner I would love to set one up. If there are any in the Jacksonville area that are available before July 18th that would work as well. If not does anyone have any suggestions for finding an officer for an interview? Thank you all in advance!

This may be a dumb question but is a maintenance officer Supply? One of my students is a Lt. Cmdr at FRC. I am at NAS Whidbey too and I could try to hook you up. He seems like a pretty laid back and helpful guy, maybe he can at least try to find you someone higher ranking. Let me know if I can help, and when you get to Oak Harbor definitely stop by the flying club.

I haven't ever heard of a Supply Officer being a Maintenance Officer. Usually they will run the supply chain for the commands and can be found around material control. However I would imagine that most higher ranking Supply Officers will be found at the base FISC (Fleet and Industrial Supply Center). I'm really shooting in the dark but if I am going to find an interview 3000 miles away this is the place to do it. If your student has any connections that would be great. As far as the flying club goes I would love to start something up when I get there. I'll have to start researching your program!

Cool. I am flying with him tomorrow and I will ask. At the club I can get you interviews with Retired commanders who were pilots or NFOs at least. Definitely give us a look if you are interested in aviation. Without trying to sound like a commercial, we are the cheapest place that I have EVER seen to train and rent aircraft. Half as expensive as a lot of other places, plus a really great level and diversity of training. Check out www.WINFC.com. Either way, let me know when you come up here and I can show you around "glorious" Oak Harbor, Washington. (It SUCKS for us young people.....you are best off going to Bellingham or Seattle for fun.)
