I’m taking the OAR in three weeks and I’m very nervous about it and the reason I’m nervous about it is because I did poorly on the SAT and I’ve only taken college algebra in the past couple of years. So you can say I’m nearly retarded when comes to math. But I am improving.

I have a couple little questions.

1st – Can I get the comparison for those who took the SAT and the OAR. What score did you get on both? Did you think the SAT was easier or the OAR?

2nd – For those people who are prior or current Enlisted that took the OAR and the SAT (previously, years prior) what were your scores on both of the test? Did you think the SAT was easier or the OAR?

3rd – For those who never took the SAT or did poorly on it and that are typically bad at math and have no real math experience what was your score on the OAR?


Just trying to get a fee for the test, sorry to ask so many questions.

Keeping in mind I took the ASTB without studying, and without knowing there were study guides for it...d'oh. I found Airwarriors and USNavyOCS.com about a week after taking it.

Study the gouge and you should do fine. I took the older paper and pencil version about 2 years ago. The hardest part of the test for me was having enough time.

When I took the SAT I recieved a 1210 (670 math and 540 verbal). I am an engineer so I have taken a TON of math in college.

My OAR was 62.

The OAR math is nothing more than algebra.

I am going to be taking the ASTB for the second time here in the upcoming weeks, and I have found all the gouge on this sight EXTREMELY helpful. I took the ACT, I can't remember my score, yet I highly feel the math on the ASTB is basic. My score was OAR: 40, without studying. My biggest problem was time. Hang in there you will do it!
