TAR Aviation Reserve Management

Hi all! I was wondering if anybody had more information on the Aviation Reserve Management track in TAR. I am currently SELRES and am looking into potential TAR opportunities, but this seems to be a pretty new "community" and I haven't been able to find out much aside from the ARM Fact sheet on MyNavyHR. I also reached out to PERS and got a little info about how it's another opportunity at a fruitful career on the TAR side as opposed to being in a traditional squadron track, but didn't get much else.

Are there any ARM folks in here that can shed some light on duties/assignments/locations, etc.? Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

It’s so new I don’t think anyone really knows. Since it’s reserve management with no flying, I’d imagine a mix of NRC, NTAG, RTAG jobs and maybe some joint/staff billets.

The deal is basically that you are a 1317 and eligible for flying orders later on if you can work it out, but you come in to TAR straight to what is typically a second tour. No bonus as you probably know, unless you go to a flying DH job later.
If you don’t care about flying or PCS’ing to random shitholes it’s a good enough deal if you’re just trying to make it to 20 without deploying. I suspect very few people who take the ARM deal will end up flying later.
