Can somebody explain TDY? And what kind of things we may do on these assignments, for example, as a supply officer? Is this something we volunteer for? DO they improve fitreps? Any other info provided is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

First of it it TAD in the NAVY USMC. But since the Army AF uses TDY as teh acronym it stays. It can be anything usually schools ie Im TAD to Pensacola for CRM training. It is basically anything less than PCS when they need you to go somewhere.

TAD is great if you are getting per diem.
