Well fellas, after a little more than two years in the process I've finally gotten into OCS with an SNA contract. I'll be headed to OCC-200, Marine style!

So thanks for being open, honest and answering stupid questions. Oh, and thanks for steering me clear of the dark side!

To those who apply, getting in is easy, don't do anything stupid and don't take no for an answer. Keep applying.

Get used to the cold. PT hard but not too much. Overtraining will F you. Although from what I understand, they dont run nearly as much down there anymore. But still be prepared for the worst and you'll do fine. Good luck

Well, well, well, it's about time you got accepted and stopped chasing the Guard! Congrats! I imagine the ice rink has you in shape and used to cold?

What did your "old man" have to say about that?

I agree, the Guard... well... the more I met them, the less I wanted to start my career there....

The old man is pretty supportive.:D

Actually, he doesn't really think that the AF is a good place for a JO right now. Too many hopefuls and too few cockpits, and the likelihood of getting stuck in UAVs is too great. Add that to the fact that he flew with a bunch of Marines (actually one of his squadron COs was a former Harrier guy) he seems to be okay with it. I talk about TBS and he just smiles and shakes his head. (I think it is becuase he is jealous of the guns I will get to shoot while I'm there;))
