Even if it weren’t clear, saying things like “It’s a complex issue and not clearly illegal” is hardly justification for treating our allies this way.
I didn't say it was, nor am i aware of a senior Administration mouth piece using treaty/ senate ratification ambiguity justifying the shameful rhetoric directed at Denmark and Greenland. I don't think the Administration feels the need to justify how they are treating certain allies.

The purpose of my post was simply to blunt the absolutism in an amature analysis involving international treaties, the US Constitution, and Senate history by otherwise smart folks but with no expertise in the matter at hand. I have held strong opinions on maters of the law, Federal Regulations, and the Constitution only to have nine elite law school educated lawyers in robes declare they know better then me. That my friends ends the debate no matter how my undergrad engineer mind understands it.

My comment was not directed at anyone in particular, just at the implicit notion that “It’s not illegal, so…” (not that it being illegal would actually stop this administration).

People often equate an evaluation of Constitutional with "morally right." Which says a lot of good about how we view the Constitution. But when the Court determines something they think is morally wrong can be Constitutional, people now believe that it wants to destroy democracy.

Not my favorite person, but like most former governors / presidents, he's capable of giving insightful takes when he's no longer constantly campaigning for office.

G.W. Bush also sounds 10,000x smarter when giving interviews since leaving office.

Being a NJ resident, who voted for him to be Governor, to then watch him disappoint over and over again most certainly is tainting my opinion of anything he has to say. Unfortunately, time since leaving that office has not changed that opinion. For me, all I see and hear is the same as when he was here. Perhaps being distanced from having lived with his direct influence on ones lives and wallets puts one in a better place to objectively listen to what he says.

Let's see what you look like in a Speedo so we can all render judgment on your integrity.
I have too much respect for all of you here to subject you to that horror.
