I didn't say it was, nor am i aware of a senior Administration mouth piece using treaty/ senate ratification ambiguity justifying the shameful rhetoric directed at Denmark and Greenland. I don't think the Administration feels the need to justify how they are treating certain allies.Even if it weren’t clear, saying things like “It’s a complex issue and not clearly illegal” is hardly justification for treating our allies this way.
The purpose of my post was simply to blunt the absolutism in an amature analysis involving international treaties, the US Constitution, and Senate history by otherwise smart folks but with no expertise in the matter at hand. I have held strong opinions on maters of the law, Federal Regulations, and the Constitution only to have nine elite law school educated lawyers in robes declare they know better then me. That my friends ends the debate no matter how my undergrad engineer mind understands it.
