Your command doesn't need to sign off, no trying to get officer evaluations, etc..... I have seen applications put together in a few hours by civilian applicants.
That makes a lot of sense. I will read up on requirements for coming back in, or reach out to a recruiter for a turnaround for coming back in.
Thank you for your advice.

Hi everyone,

I’m an AD USCG E-5 applying to USN SNA (I-SEL) with an approved conditional release. I also already have an approved Class 1 physical in AERO with no waivers required.

My recruiter sent me to MEPS on May 19th. On the 20th, I received a very surprising letter from N3M that I failed the Depth Perception at MEPS (50 arc seconds, tired and rushed) and was DQ’d for Pilot but qualified for all other designators including NFO.

I only want Pilot, so on the 21st, I went to the Navy Clinic near my unit to retest for depth perception and passed (30 arc seconds). I pulled the official results for this passing exam from MHS Genesis and sent it to my recruiter to forward for reconsideration from N3M.

Does anyone updated info of whether this is something N3M will usually grant PQ letters for after already issuing a DQ letter from the MEPS results?

I would love to just wait and see, but my EOAS is approaching fast and me and my family really counting on this I-SEL process. Just want to know what to expect so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you all!

Things like this have been overturned, how long it can take can vary. When you say your EAOS is fast approaching how much time do you have? Did you look to see when people are getting OCS dates?

Thanks for the reply! I have looked and for ISEL, it seems like they’re getting OCS dates that are a month or two out from when they get approved (if that’s what you mean).

My EAOS is in less than 4 months, but since I’m in a E-4 billet (just made E-5 in Jan), if I wanted to extend/reenlist until I get accepted, they’d make me PCS transfer which would incur even more obligated service minimums.

I was banking on the idea that I wouldn’t need waivers, or so I thought, in which case, I could hear back with a class date within the next few weeks ideally for the Aug/Sep OCS classes! Looks like I won’t be able to submit my package unless N3M changes their mind though.

I would look again at when ISEL are getting OCS dates they are several months out now.
