My ADDOC package goes out tomorrow, and my long wait begins.

SWO, NFO, Supply in that order. Shooting for FY2007.

My GPA is my Achilles Heel, 2.85, yeah it sucks. I included a letter explaining that it was only one grade my first semester of college that killed it, all grades since than have been fine. Its not going to keep me from trying, that's for sure... the two recruiters and senior processor I've worked with wouldn't be helping me so much if they thought I was wasting their time. Political Science BA, Computer Science minor.

OAR 63
AQ 7
PFAR 7
NOFAR 6

LORs- Active Navy Captain, Retired Commander, High School Principle, 5 year job boss.

Positives- Eagle Scout, National Honors Society President, Senior class president, held manager position at age 18 with my job.

NOT asking what my shot is, I'll either get pro rec'd or not and have to apply again after this semester. Just asking for some wishes of good luck!

Your package looks VERY competitive with exception of the GPA. Definitely inform us of the progress! Feel free to IM me with any questions or if I can be of any help. Godspeed.

Good luck, man, that package is better than mine, except the GPA...you smoked my LORs and my OAR scores, and I got the 'Rec from Supply.

I should've withdrawn when it looked glum from that class, but I just didn't know any better being my first months at college. ARGH! Hind sight is 20/20... Too bad they don't care about grade forgiveness.

metro I like that... supplyviatior :icon_smil

THAT IS NOT TRUE!!! You can get grades changed by talking to your professor for that class and having him/her submit a grade change form. I know because I had 2 F's changed into W's. This was done at two different community colleges. The key is to be sincere and have a really good reason to have the grade changed. This brought my GPA up from a 3.5 to 3.8, and I didn't have to explain any failing grades to the selection board. If you didn't fail (which it sounds like you passed with a low grade) you may have to retake the class and get a better grade, and then have the old grade removed (that says "removed", not "replaced"). Sounds complicated but it was surprisingly easy to do. Good Luck!!

Different schools have different rules on changing grades - mine will only do it within 6 months of the end of the semester. We also couldn't get any grades removed at all until last month - both original grade and retakes were put into GPA calculations.

That's true - different schools have different rules. Both of my schools had policies in place stating that grades would not be changed after 1 year. However, there are exceptions to every rule and both of my grades were changed well after the 1 year mark. The lesson here: You can't get what you don't ask for!!

If I am non select this round, I will go to my professor (I am currently retaking the class for grade forgiveness) and explain my situation. If I can get that grade wiped off my transcript my GPA will jump substantially for BDCP.

Thanks, guys! You are right, you can't get what you don't ask for!!!!

Good luck and as they said, thats a solid package if not for the GPA.
I am in a similiar boat after finishing my first year off with only a 2.9...
But since then I have been much more on point, it seems sooooooo much easier (and faster)to get the GPA to go down, then up. Maybe a math major can explain that phenomenon.

After my first semester my GPA was a wreck, I've worked VERY hard to get it to where it is now... wouldn't guess it, but raising a horrible GPA is a lot harder than lowering it.
