I took one class at a community college to brush up on my organic chemistry. Since it was simply to refresh my knowledge the original class is on my original transcript from my University. Is it necessary to include this on my application? Would something like this pop up on the background check or anything like that? I have already submitted my app to my recruiter and don't want to hold things up any longer if not absolutely necessary.

If you received a grade for it and didn't just audit the class then it should have been calculated into your cumulative GPA. You are supposed to turn in ALL transcripts to your OR.

That is hard to believe. You mean to tell me that I must recalculate my GPA from my MS completed in 1977, and add the 40 or so CC courses I have taken since then, from Gardening Essentials to Real Estate sales and etc? The grade that I receive in the Chinese class that I took last year would certainly wreck havoc on my 3.9 GPA from Gad School.

Back to the question. Of course it will not reflect negatively on your BI or anything else. That you took the refresher is a positive and in no way could be construed as negative. By all means, share this with your recuiter but do not go back and redo your app in order to include that.

Yes, you'll have to include it. I took an upper level physics class one summer at the University of Pittsburgh after my sophomore year and had to include the transcript and things as well. It may take some hunting down and phone calls, but its doable. It'll come up anyways if its on your original schools transcript after you transferred the credit.

I would certainly think any Chinese class would destroy your GPA. Well it would certainly destroy mine! ;)

If he is retaking an undergrad class for credit whether to increase his GPA or to take as a refresher then it needs to be calculated with his cumulative undergrad GPA. Your situation is different because you are referencing a MS. Your CC classes would be required to calculate your undergrad cumulative GPA. I know this because I took a math class again after transferring schools as a refresher and both grades were calculated in my cumulative undergrad GPA by my OR. I have attended 4 different schools and every undergrad class I took at each school was calculated in my cumulative undergrad GPA.
